2023-07-26 Gallura Disinfestazioni posted:
As per tradition we have arrived at the annual appointment with our usual ranking of the pests that are most prevalent in this summer 2023.
- In tenth and last place fleas
- In ninth place ticks
- In eighth place are mosquitoes and flies
- Cockroaches in seventh place
- In sixth place bed bugs
- In fifth place are mice and rats
- In fourth place termites
- Plant Pests in third place
- In second place Woodworms and Woodworm Mites
- In first place Ants
- In first position we find ants, which in large numbers are attracted into our homes by sugary liquids.
- In second place ex aequo we find woodworms and the woodworm mite. The woodworm mite is a woodworm parasite characterized by its infinitely small size (it is invisible to the naked eye) and creates discomfort with its very annoying bites. Woodworms, on the other hand, whose period of emergence coincides with the summer months, are at the root of the presence of woodworm mites.
- In third place we find all those pests that threaten the health of ornamental plants: cochineals, sooty mould, aphids, olive fly, caterpillars of the meadow, lymantria dispar.
- The termites, which from the subsoil arrive in homes to feed on damp wooden materials, occupy fourth place.
- Fifth place is occupied by mice and rats. Heat and poor waste management can become the cause of mice and rat infestations. The deratting service of Gallura Disinfestazioni represents an effective solution to combat the problem and prevent it thanks to the study of the areas to be treated and to an accurate consultancy.
- Bed bugs, also characterized by strong bites that can cause significant itching, are in sixth place.
- In position number seven we find we find cockroaches, which with high temperatures tend to escape from the sewers.
- In eighth place another ex aequo: flies and mosquitoes. The former develop their larvae thanks to the heat and humidity, while the optimal temperature for greater production activity is 30° C. While mosquitoes were unable to proliferate this year due to the lack of rain.
- In ninth place we find ticks, very dangerous as they can transmit Lyme borreliosis, a disease that progressively affects the skin, joints, nervous system and internal organs.
- In last place we find fleas, vectors of infections and viruses
